The Icon Impact Initiative

The Icon Impact Initiative is an 8-week, project-based leadership program designed to help high school students build, launch, and articulate a meaningful impact project rooted in their interests, values, and goals.

This program is built for students who want to move beyond surface-level activities and develop real leadership, initiative, and ownership. Rather than adding another club or resume line, students create something tangible like an initiative, organization, research effort, or community project that reflects who they are and why they care.

  • The Icon Impact Initiative is a guided, cohort-based program that combines:

    • Weekly live leadership and strategy sessions

    • Structured project-building frameworks

    • Planning tools, worksheets, and accountability checkpoints

    • Mentorship focused on execution, reflection, and impact

The program helps students move from idea exploration to real-world action while learning how to document and communicate their leadership meaningfully for college admissions.

This is not about perfection. It’s about progress, ownership, and intentional growth.

  • The Icon Impact Initiative is led by Icon’s Founder, Mason Hill, alongside select mentors and guest contributors depending on the cohort.

Mason brings over a decade of experience in admissions, leadership development, and student mentorship, and works closely with students to help them:

    • Identify projects that align with their interests and strengths

    • Avoid performative or superficial leadership

    • Build initiatives that are authentic, sustainable, and impactful

The focus is always on substance over optics.

  • Over eight weeks, students meet live via Zoom for weekly sessions focused on different stages of leadership and project development, including:

    • Exploring interests and identifying meaningful problems

    • Designing a feasible and aligned project

    • Executing and adapting in real-world conditions

    • Measuring outcomes and reflecting on growth

    • Learning how to communicate impact clearly and honestly

Each week includes guided pre-work and structured next steps to keep students moving forward between sessions.

All sessions are recorded for flexibility.

  • Every student’s project is different, and personalization is built into the program.

    Students receive:

    • Structured prompts to shape their individual project

    • Feedback on ideas, plans, and execution challenges

    • 1:1 guidance tailored to their interests, resources, and context

The goal is that by the end of the program, each student has not only built something meaningful, but has an action plan to scale their project when the program concludes.

Optional 1:1 Strategy Meetings with Mason are available for families who want deeper, individualized support.

  • The Icon Impact Initiative is a premium, project-based program priced to reflect its depth, mentorship, and outcomes. It is priced at $3,499.

This program is best suited for students ready to take initiative, commit time and effort, and engage actively in the process.

  • The Icon Impact Initiative is designed to complement Icon’s broader ecosystem and often pairs well with:

    • The Icon Strategy Academy for long-term planning

    • The 8-Week Admissions Accelerator for application-stage students

    • The 4-Week Essay Bootcamp to translate leadership into compelling essays

Many students use the Impact Initiative to build a cornerstone of their application narrative.

The program is delivered entirely online via Zoom and email, allowing students from anywhere in the world to participate while balancing school and other commitments.
